The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption is the central public institution responsible for the development, coordination, implementation of anti-corruption policies, as well as the verification and administrative investigation of suspected cases of corruption in the public sector.
The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption operates under the Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption, who also exercises the function of the National Coordinator against Corruption.
Its activity is based on the relevant legal framework and extends to the entire territory of the Republic of Albania. It has a multidisciplinary mandate, acting in the areas of policy-making, prevention, control, education and public awareness on issues related to corruption.
